Today will be the club’s second meeting for the season with an eight race program with the first race set down to start at 1.29pm and the last at 5.53pm. There is free gate entry so we hope to see you there.
In the first race, the JD’s Jam Factory Pace over 2100 metres, there are three locals engaged. Perfect Sweetart for Ian Butt has been in the prizemoney twice in her last five starts and drawing the pole position should go forward and be up in the placings. Runacullen for David Micallef has drawn well and if she does everything right will be up there. The third local is Video Hits for Barry Lawrence, her form and her draw suggests this may not be her day but anything could happen. Tips – No 7 Palm Cove Girl, 2nd No 1 Perfect Sweetart and 3rd So Blessed.
Race 2 the Mad Harry Steelyard pace over 2100 metres has four locals engaged. Titian Red for BJ Smith has the number one barrier, in his last start at Canberra he finished 4th. Mo Johnson has Sunshine Daisy from barrier three and I expect Mo to go forward and put the mare into the race. Katie Hutchison has Elakasa Oceanliner from barrier four and should be there in the finish. Gomax for Tony Turner has drawn outside the back line which makes the task that much harder. Tips – No 2 Metaphor, 2nd Times No Object and 3rd Elakasa Oceanliner.
Race 3 the Success Stud Pace over the 2100 metre journey is for C0 pacers with four locals engaged. David Hodges has Ebony Otara from gate 2, she should be improved after running fifth last week at Young. Michael Day Jnr is coming out of gate 4 with Dead Square who ran 4th last week and was beaten by a good horse (Kid Courageous). Elakasa Oceanstorm (Katie Hutchison) is having his fifth race start and should be improved from his last run at Young. Michael Hardy has Superstar Lady NZ (gate 8), she is racing well and should be hard to beat. Tips – No 8 Superstar Lady NZ, 2nd Roger Overnout and 3rd Dead Square.
Race 4 the Ambos Stockfeed Pace over the 2100 metre journey has two locals. Mo has Shania Jadestar from barrier six and is racing in good form while Barry Lawrence has drawn outside of the back line with Our Mateship. Tips – No 3 Livelymatch, 2nd No 2 Herdon and 3rd Ultrasmart.
Race 5 the Young Services Club Pace over 2100 metres has another 4 locals. Greg Nolan has Imjustapoorboy from barrier 2, Brett Maxwell has Curly Shannon from gate 4, BJ Smith has Gifted Knight from barrier five and Greg McCaffery has drawn outside the back row with Polo Beachley. Tips – 1st No 9 Show Business, 2nd No 6 The Concierge and 3rdNo 5 Gifted Knight.
Race 6 is the final of the C0 pace with prize money of $7,000. In this Hardy Bros Civil Construction sponsored race Michael Hardy would dearly like to win this family sponsored race with Archycash who will be having his third start in a week. Tips – No 6 Kid Courageous, 2nd Franco Namesake NZ, 3rd Toronado.
In another final for C1 to C3 pacers, race 7, also carrying prize money of $7,000 and sponsored by Hilltops Equine Centre, Mo Johnson has Sprintzer engage from barrier 10. This should be a great race with many chances. Tips – No 8 Tellusomethin, 2nd Fleurieu and 3rd Ollys Rear View.
The last race on the program, sponsored by Donges Supa IGA over 2100 metres, three local have runners, Barry Hazelgrove has Winsome Roy from barrier 5, Ray Lennane with Skeeterville gate 6 and Mo with Irish Sovereign gate 8. There are many chances in this to finish the program but Deehan Crook on No 1 Northern Delight will take the money with No Malice Alice, Tooth Under Fire and The Fire Inside NZ fighting out the placings.
Have a great day at the trots.
