Young sheep and lamb sale

Quality was slightly up on last fortnight with some pens of grain finished lambs on offer. Competition was strong for finished lambs with all regular buyers in attendance while restocker interest was steady to weaker.

Quotes:

Lighter lambs sold from $30 to a top of $62.50 per head.

Trade lambs ranged widely from $72 to a top price of $100.

Cross bred ewes sold between $42 to $49.

Merino wethers sold from $30 shorn to a top of $59 for heavier types.

Merino ewes ranged from $30 to $52 for the same.

Merino Rams sold to $50.

Alec and Christine Stevenson sold 40 heavy cross bred lambs to Burrangong Meats for $100. John Caldwell of ‘Milong’ sold six Merino rams to Scotsdale Meats for $50. Jim Ricketts of ‘Crescent hill’ sold 23 Merino wethers with inch skins for $59 to Gathacol.
