BENDICK Murrell Public School is preparing to celebrate their 125th anniversary with a big day of activities and reunions planned for Saturday October 4.
The day will open at 11am with ‘wonderings and wanderings’, where past staff, students and their families peruse a display of collected school and community memorabilia and can share memories and experiences at the school.
The school laid down a time-capsule in 1983, their centenary year, which will be raised at 1.00pm on the day, 25 years later.
It will be interesting to discover what items students and the community thought significant 25 years ago and how times and people have changed.
Everyone is welcome to join in with the afternoon carnival from 2.30pm with a range of outdoor races, games and activities including egg and spoon and sack races.
To round off the day everyone is invited back to the Bendick Murrell hall for an evening get together and reunion.
Engraved pavers and sets of wine glasses are available on pre-order and there will be a selection of memorabilia for sale on the day.
Currently, the school is seeking past students and staff that may have old photographs, uniforms, documents or historic knowledge that may be of interest for the anniversary displays.
The school is hoping to see a huge turnout of past affiliates on the day to take part in celebrating an impressive and wonderful 125 years.
